These show, from left or right your temaining health, total time you have survived, how much your weapon has healted up, how long untill you can fire you weapon again and your score, gained from destroying enemies. If your weapon overheats, it will not fire anymore.

Mouse - aim and shoot
Spacebar - hold down to view status bar, shown above; and weapon selection box, shown to the left.
